The story of Maclarens Lawyers and Partner Chris Maley have been intertwined for 50 years.  At a recent event the firm organised to celebrate Chris’ 50^th year as a practising lawyer, he reflected on the fact that he had worked for Maclarens for his entire legal career and was incredibly proud of the firm’s journey.

Working with the firm’s founder Doug Maclaren 50 years ago, straight out of University and with so much to learn, Chris discovered that he shared Doug’s vision to provide the best possible legal advice, guidance, service and support to clients while developing long-lasting professional relationships.

Following Doug’s passing, Chris took on the role of Managing Partner (only 18 months after joining the practice) and continued to build the firm on the foundations of trust, reliability and integrity.  Under Chris’ stewardship, Maclarens Lawyers gained a wealth of long-term clients, established a reputation for providing the best possible service, and consolidated the firm’s position as a stalwart supporter and member of the local community.

For a small business to have longevity, it requires a legacy of success - a transition from one ‘generation’ to the next that not only builds on the success of the past, but also propels the business forward into the future and ensures it continues to succeed.

The legacy of success that was evident when Chris took on the role of Managing Partner is continuing today as he chooses to take a step back from his day-to-day management role and the firm transitions to its third generation of leadership.

Our new Managing Partner Jessica Diep has been working alongside Chris at Maclarens for 18 years.  She shares his vision to provide the best possible practice to the people of Merrylands – and is committed to maintaining the firm’s strong family values, compassion, and focus on service excellence that has served Maclarens’ and our clients so well over the years.

Jessica will continue the Maclarens journey, with Chris Maley and our long-standing and professional team by her side, and looks forward to working with our clients into the future.
